Charles Busby Sr. founded Busby’s Plumbing on the values of hard work, honest service, and taking care of the people who trusted him with their homes and businesses. 

After completing his military service, Charles went to work for an employer who taught him the plumbing trade. What began as a job became a craft he learned to love, eventually inspiring him to start a plumbing business of his own.

In 1969, Charles began building what would become the Busby’s Plumbing legacy. He started in Fort Worth and later continued the business in Mexia, building a reputation for dependable work, personal service, and treating every customer with care. 

Charles’s customers thought the world of him. They appreciated not only the quality of his work, but the way he treated people. His customer relationships were always important to him, and he made sure to give his best to every person he served. Customers especially remembered his neatness—when Charles finished a job, he took pride in leaving the area clean and cared for. 

Charles taught his boys everything he knew about plumbing, but the lessons went far beyond the trade itself. He instilled in them the importance of working hard, taking pride in what they did, and giving customers their very best. Those lessons became part of the foundation that the next generation of Busby’s Plumbing would carry forward. 

Charles remained active in plumbing from 1969 until his passing in 2005—36 years devoted to the craft he had learned to love. But his influence didn’t end there. It lives on in the family he taught, the customers he served, the reputation he built, and the business that still proudly carries the Busby name today.
